A new cooktop is on the list for the kitchen remodel, so I've been poking around, looking at different styles. Ever since I first discovered the wonders of cooking with gas, I've been completely converted, and the thought of switching back to electric sends shivers down my spine. However, there have been some exciting innovations in the world of electric cooktops recently.

There's the Induction Cooktop that works in combination with iron-content cookware, leaving a cool surface when the pan is removed. I have to say - this is pretty cool!


What appears to be the mother of all cooking gadgets is "The William." This thing is incredible! It appears that it's only in concept stage so far, but this might be enough to convert me back to electric cooking. I would love some more information on this.

So far, I have to say that my favorite cooktop is part of the Thermador Professional Series - the 48" range top. It's absolutely beautiful, with its 6 burners and electric grill/griddle. The continuous surface allows you to move pans around without catching pans on the edges or the worry of spilling. I must say, it makes cooking so much smoother.



I love the star shaped burners that Thermador has. Faster and more even heating anyone?



So, with all of the great options out there, I'm still not quite sure what we'll end up with. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see!
