Introducing: Tuesday Treasures
7:54 PMSo, I've decided to try something new. I LOVE visiting thrift stores, flea markets, and little boutiques. Whether I'm looking for something specific, or I'm just browsing, I love the treasure hunt. (Especially when I find the perfect piece for whatever project I happen to be working on.)
On Tuesdays I've decided to feature shops that I've found here in the Bay Area, or treasures that I've purchased myself, as well as ideas for different ways to use some of the treasures you might find.
My hope is to share with you my love of treasure hunting and inspire you to go check out the second hand stores in your area (for those of you living in the area, you can actually go check out these stores). Hopefully you'll even take on some fun and simple projects. The sky's the limit with what you can find and what you can do with it!
So, without further ado, here are some of my most recent finds.
I just happened on this beautiful tureen and ladle a couple weeks ago when I stopped by a second hand store. I absolutely love these things! My belief is that every home should have at least one tureen (although I just might start collecting them!). Priced at only $4.00, I almost feel guilty... almost.
If you know me, you'll already know that I'm practically obsessed with Michael Thonet (pronounced "Ton-et" - rhymes with "lawn-et") and his bentwood chairs. In school I studied him and his innovative bentwood process a number of times, in both my design and my German classes.
So, needless to say, seeing these two chairs made my heart leap with joy. The price ($10) was even more wonderful!
